Immersion Hospitality Training
From day one participants are in the Hotel and this helps keep them focused away from external distractions. Hours of training and work are no more than 30 hours per week which includes some Saturdays. Participants have an Hotel Induction and Orientation together with individual interviews with the Hotel General Manager to ensure they are allocated a suitable role and department from their choices. They will each be allocated a Mentor who will help them settle into the Hotel and offer help, guidance and encouragement. Uniforms are provided by the Hotel.
The programme will last for up to 10 weeks and during this time participants will have one to one reviews with their trainer and their Department Manager on their progress within their Department and on their Qualification.
Participants work towards Skills Development Scotland’s SQA Certificate in Work Readiness which consists of five units.
Housekeeping, Kitchen Porter, Trainee Chef, Conferencing & Banqueting, Maintenance, Greenkeeping, Leisure, Spa, Bar, Restaurant, Administration, Accounts, Reception, Concierge, Sales, Events.
The programme is open to individuals between the ages of 16 and 24 and individuals over the age of 24 who are not already in employment or training. The programme is funded by Skills Development Scotland’s Employability Fund.
